As an intern with Safe Kids Utah and The Utah Department of Health, I have been working with my supervisors on a safety open house which will be held
Friday, April 24 from 10am to Noon. We will be showing parents how to make their homes safer. Experts from Primary Children’s Medical Center, Salt Lake Valley Health Department, and the Utah Fire Marshal’s Office will give demonstrations on poisoning prevention and fire, water, and car safety. The safety open house will also be featured on Fox 13 Morning News, Friday morning.
Every day 125 Utah kids ages 0-14 are treated in an emergency department due to an unintentional injury. Utah Department of Health (UDOH) experts say many of these injuries are preventable. During April and May, parents across Utah can learn how to make their homes safer during National Safe Kids Week.
