Are you looking to boost your resume and be more competitive in the job market, or with applications to graduate school? Then consider
taking the class: Student Development (STDV) 317.
Here is what Laurel Feuz has to say about her experience in the class.
When the major advisor, Stephanie Fugal, suggested I take Student Development 317 in place of Health 498, I figured I’d take the class, get the credits, and that would be it. However, in taking the class this semester, I was able to get much more out of it than simply fulfilling a two credit requirement. The Student Development class focuses on teaching students valuable skills related to internships, graduate school, and careers. The goal is for students to learn to be more competitive when applying for jobs or schools. The class teaches not only the technical skills such as resume creating and cover letter writing, but also the personal skills such as networking and interviewing. After taking this class, I feel like I am better prepared to market myself and interact with professors, colleagues, and future employers. I found this class to be very useful and applicable to what I want for my future. I highly recommend this class.
