Job Openings in Global Health

Amy Candrian, a Health Science graduate who is working in international health, wrote to let us know of job openings with her organization in Washington, DC. She is a contractor with Pal-Tech and works with USAID.

“The program assistant jobs are all with USAID in the Global Health Bureau. Two of them are in my office, the Office of HIV/AIDS, and one is in the Population and Reproductive Health office.” http://pal-tech.com/careers/?subsec=6

If anyone is looking to come to D.C., and wanting to work in international development/health, I’d encourage them to apply. Pal-Tech is a great contractor to work for, fairly good benefits, and having a job with USAID is a great foot in the door to start out one’s career.

Amy writes of her current job responsibilities:

“I’m out on my first, of many, business trips. They’ve sent me to Botswana for a month to help out in one of our offices in Gaborone. I’ve been helping develop our Civil Society Capacity Building project (an RFA that will hopefully allow USAID to help strengthen local NGO’s and make them more effective) and will soon be helping draft the Partnership Framework for our upcoming Country Operational Plan. The partnership framework is our five year strategy plan that coincides with PEFPAR. I’m getting great exposure and first hand experience in a lot of areas. It’s been a great trip so far. I’ve been here since the end of May and will be here until the end of this month.
