On November 9th, Health Science Alum, Rebecca Castleton will be presenting “Sectors of the Russian Economy That Would Benefit from Reduced Tobacco Use” at the annual American Public Health Association (APHA) annual meeting in Philadelphia.
Rebecca traveled to Russia to conduct the research and worked with professors Dr. Lindsay and Dr. Merrill to analyze the data. Rebecca said
“I really wanted the opportunity to get research experience and applied for the ORCA and later the Fulton grants to do so. One of the best experiences I had at BYU!”
The APHA “is the oldest and most diverse organization of public health professionals in the world and has been working to improve public health since 1872. APHA and its state affiliates represent over 50,000 health professionals and others who work to promote health, prevent disease and ensure conditions in which we all can be safe and healthy.”
Rebecca currently works at the Utah Department of Health in the Arthritis Program.
If you are interested in applying for an ORCA grant, the deadline is Friday, October 30th.
