UVU Wellness Programs Internship

Opening available IMMEDIATELY

Internship Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this position include:
• Behavior change counseling for the UVU population
• Presenting on nutrition, fitness, and wellness-related topics
• Administering Health Risk Appraisal testing such as blood pressure, body composition, flexibility, lung function, grip test, etc…
• Administering nutrition & health screenings
• Program planning & implementation
• Creating promotional documents, newspaper advertisements and brochures
• Developing and implementation of new health & wellness presentations
• Coordination of Wellness Workshops
• Helping with special events and projects as warranted

Hours: Approximately 10-15 hours a week

Internship Qualification Criteria
Internship opportunities are available to students in Health major (Community Health, Exercise Science, or Public Health) and are a Senior status in their field.

All intern applicants need to complete any pre-requisite requirements that may apply to their internship in their related field.

Stipend
All UVU interns will quality for a stipend reimbursement that will be given for their work during the semester. The stipend amount varies and depends on the numbers of hours worked.

• Great presentation skills
• Ability to work one-on-one with clients
• Adobe experience
• Passion for the health field
• Ability to work effectively with others on program planning
