Build Your Resume– Volunteer Opportunities

Two Volunteer Opportunities to Build Your Resume

#1

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Campus Rape Prevention and Education Campaign

Put on by: The Utah County Health Department and the Center for Women and Children in Crisis

Did you know that rape is the only violent crime in Utah which is above the national average? Did you know that College women are more at-risk for sexual assault than their non-college bound peers? Here’s where you can make a difference

  • We need people for a major flier blitz (choose from the three dates below, or come to all of them):
  • Wednesday March 3, 2010 @ Cinnamon Tree Apartments, Meet by office 7 PM
  • Thursday March 4, 2010 @ WolverineCrossing Apartments, Meet by office 8 PM
  • Saturday March 6, 2010 @ Branbury Apartments, meet by office/clubhouse 11:15 AM

We also need volunteers on April 10, 2010 to help us put on the ”Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event located at the University Mall at 8:00am. We need people who can come at 7:30am and help with set up, registration, documentation (take pictures/film the event), and be guides on the course. If you would like to get involved please contact Lindsee Anderson at lindsee.anderson@gmail.com.

Why walk a mile? We’re here to tell the world that men can put an end to rape. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes asks men to literally walk one mile in women’s shoes to raise awareness about rape and sexual assault in Utah County. It’s not easy walking in these shoes, but it’s a fun way to get the community to talk about this sensitive, yet important topic. Please join us! The entire community is invited to walk – men, women & children
