HEAU Conference Opportunity – PAID

The Department of Health Science is offering to pay the conference fee ($15) for students to attend the HEAU Conference on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Noah’s in South Jordan. If you are interested, please email Stephanie Fugal, MS, CHES (stephanie_fugal@byu.edu) immediately. Registration deadline is Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. More information below.

The HEAH Spring Conference will be held March 9, 2012 from 8-4 pm at Noah’s, 322 W. 11000 S. , South Jordan, Utah. You won’t want to miss this one!

This year’s theme is HEAU with 2020 Vision: A Focus on the Future. Come listen to professionals presenting on topics that will prepare Health Educators for their roles in the future. We will learn how new technologies such as IPads, Gapminder,and photovoice can be applied to health education efforts . Learn about the newest research projects in topics such as healthy weight initiatives, disparate populations, and vending machines. MCHES and CHES credits available.

HELP International Volunteer Opportunity

HELP International is searching for volunteers to travel abroad in fulfilling its mission of empowering people to fight global poverty through life-changing, sustainable development programs. For Public Health majors, this may fulfill the Internship requirement necessary for the Health Promotion track (and is recommended for all other tracks). Here are additional reasons to volunteer:

Get hands-on experience in your field while traveling internationally
Build your resume and get university credit
Community development, business consulting, public health projects, and more!
Choose between a number of countries including Tanzania, India, El Salvador, and a number of other countries
