The Department of Health Science is offering to pay the conference fee ($15) for students to attend the HEAU Conference on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Noah’s in South Jordan. If you are interested, please email Stephanie Fugal, MS, CHES (stephanie_fugal@byu.edu) immediately. Registration deadline is Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. More information below.

The HEAH Spring Conference will be held March 9, 2012 from 8-4 pm at Noah’s, 322 W. 11000 S. , South Jordan, Utah. You won’t want to miss this one!

This year’s theme is HEAU with 2020 Vision: A Focus on the Future. Come listen to professionals presenting on topics that will prepare Health Educators for their roles in the future. We will learn how new technologies such as IPads, Gapminder,and photovoice can be applied to health education efforts . Learn about the newest research projects in topics such as healthy weight initiatives, disparate populations, and vending machines. MCHES and CHES credits available.

Dr. Jay Bernhardt, former director of the National Center for Health Marketing at the CDC, and the current director of the Center for Digital Health and Wellness at the University of Florida will be giving a presentation on Thursday, October 6th at 3:00 p.m. in 1170 Talmage Building.

His presentation will explore how innovative research and practice at the interface between public health and technology can facilitate health promotion and increase the reach, engagement and impact of programs focusing on behavior change and positive health outcomes.
