Last Mandatory Internship Meeting held tomorrow

If you are a public health student doing an internship in Spring, Summer or Fall 2012, the last mandatory internship meeting will be held tomorrow, Thursday, January 26 at 11 a.m. in room 267 RB. The meeting will last 30 minutes, with 15 minutes for questions at the end. We will be discussing how to sign up for an internship in the new online system, and how to complete the internship requirements.

CHES Exam applications due tomorrow!

If you are planning to apply to have the College of Life Science pay for your April 2012 CHES exam, applications are due tomorrow, Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 12 noon in 221 RB.

You must include the application (signed), a typed paragraph why you want to take the exam, a transcript from the registrar’s office, and the NCHEC application completed (including school and major code, and test location site).

April 2012 CHES Exam – Applications process instructions

The College of Life Science is offering to pay for a limited number of students to take the CHES exam on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Students must be PAID members of BPHA*, in their senior year, have completed 25 credits of health education, and have completed an application with transcripts (found in 221 RB). Applications are due Thursday, Jan. 26 at 12 noon.

It is only $10 to join; the CHES exam is $210.

Tobacco Prevention & Control Program

Utah Department of Health’s Tobacco Prevention & Control Program is looking for 2 additional students to administer surveys. The positions are paid and will involve about 20 hours of work; mostly in the evenings. The surveys will be administered at emo/goth concerts and it is essential that applicants be comfortable in such environments.

Training will begin in the next two weeks and the surveys will be administered at appropriate concerts starting after February 8th until the first part of March.
