Intern Responsibilities:

The intern would be responsible for assisting with survey data and analysis for the healthcare shortage areas as well as directly contacting and working with the providers in these areas. Once data is collected and analyzed, a score will be given to each of the shortage areas for designation. Depending on the survey score for each of the individual areas, the Division will work with the Federal “National Health Service Core” for the strategic placement of healthcare providers in these shortage areas.

This position is a full-time position from Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, which can be split between 2 or even 3 people that are interested in gaining experience in the field. The student(s) would work closely with a staff member and be thoroughly trained in what the position entails.

The Division would also like to provide opportunity for the student(s) to be exposed to several areas of Public Health and will take the initiative in organizing experiences in other Bureau’s outside of this project for a well-rounded experience. The Division also has some funding available for a temporary position that will need to be filled shortly and the intern(s) will be welcome and invited to apply.
