  5. I am a former BYU Public Health Education student from BYU and am now working for a nonprofit organization in Salt Lake. I am looking for an intern to help out with what we are doing here. This would be a great opportunity for one of the students to complete their internship hours and get some great marketable experience. How can I post it on this blog? Thanks.

    • Sorry for the slow response, but feel free to send any internship opportunities to Stephanie Fugal, our Internship Coordinator, at stephanie_fugal@byu.edu

  6. Just wanted to get the word out about an internship opportunity at the Utah Department of Health. Please post this on the main page if you can.

Bureau of Health Promotion Internship Opportunity

What:We would like to hire a temporary, part-time intern to assist in administering the 2012 School Health Profiles Survey, a biennial statewide survey of junior high/high school administrators and teachers regarding health policies and curriculum. UDOH works closely with the Utah State Office of Education since 2002 to conduct this survey and data is used to direct interventions and evaluate programs within the Bureau of Health Promotion. Tasks for the intern will include organizing the mailing of the survey, following up as necessary, and communicating with the Center’s for Disease Control. Expected period of employment is January through May 2012. Graduate student or upper-level undergrad preferred. Wage is $12-14/hour with an average of 20 hours/week for approximately 18 weeks

When: The internship will begin January 2012 and continue through the school year.

Where: Some work will have to be done in Salt Lake at the Utah Department of Health, and some could be done from home.

    Applications due December 16, 2011.
For more information, or to apply, contact Michael Friedrichs at mfriedrichs@utah.gov or (801) 538-6244.
